You may want to go with a fiberglass boat if you want a smoother ride on larger bodies of water. Fiberglass is generally more expensive than aluminum is, but not all the time. New vs. Used?
There are used and new boats available. There are again, pros and cons associated with each. Used bass boats will keep their resale value longer but of course, a used outboard motor may not last so long. If you decide to buy a used boat then you want to check out the motor properly before using it. The price tag, of course is an attractive feature of used boats. Keep in mind that you often get what you pay for, so if you get the boat very cheaply, you may have to do some repairs before you can use it.

Rather than have to fix it up before taking it out, you can hitch it up right away and be on your way to the lake!
