How To Select The Best Camping Location

An excellent way to do something other than the regular routine of your life like working, going to school, eating & sleeping is to go camping. It allows you to enjoy nature in a way that most of us cannot do everyday.

Tips on finding the best location for camping.
Before you can find a camping site that will be perfect for you it is necessary to find a great campground. This is easy thanks to the Internet and the fact that many campgrounds have their own website. You can make an educated decision about your campground as most websites allow a virtual tour or at least have pictures of their campsites.
Keep in mind however that much like menu-pictures in a restaurant, a campsite always looks a bit more glorified than it actually is.

Before you can choose a campsite you will need to know which type of camping you'll be doing. When a campground is labeled as "primitive", exactly what should you expect?
At primitive campgrounds you must bring ALL your supplies of your own. This covers your shelter, any necessary gear, plus additional items you may need as well as the basic items such as a first aid kit. Primitive campsites are usually deep in the wilderness where you will not find electricity, water, showers, or even pit toilets.

Campground that provide "luxuries" like water, waste disposal, and electrcity in a luxurious setting are the other extreme. You can even find spas at certain campgrounds!

In between these two extremes however you'll find the bulk of camp grounds. Camping in private parks usually includes all the amenities you could possibly desire. Many offer washers and dryers, shopping areas and arcades and they are glad to accommodate customers planning on an extended stay. The majority of private parks will also organize activities like bingo games, or have fun and/or competitive activities for children.

The Cost of Campgrounds.
The fee to stay at a private park will be higher than renting a spot at a public campground. Campgrounds in state parks can include everything from primitive to resort like settings. Some of them offer electric, swimming pools, warm showers, toilet facilities, laundry rooms, areas for the children to play in, guided tours, etc.
Most state and national forest parks only offer the basics. Fire rings, pit toilets and picnic tables will most likely be found here. The good news is that these campgrounds are very affordable as they may be free or only cost a few dollars per day.

Campgrounds will book quickly during nice weather, so book early!
Note that during nice weather people tend to settle in early. To get the best spot you must arrive early and have a bit of luck.
Do you want a site near the pool and playground? Although it is an ideal site for kids it may be somewhat noisy due to pedestrian activity. The same holds true for sites located near showers or bathrooms. You may find foot traffic around your tent 24 hours a day!

Are you someone who needs the sounds of a noisy city or do you prefer a more quiet setting? Camping offers something unique for all people. There's no doubt you can find the perfect one to suit your family's needs.
