Some people like the luxury of a hotel, with fresh food cooked for them, utilities on hand, and the warmth and comfort you get. Others like to join nature by pitching up a tent and living the wildlife. If you are a ‘posh’ camper you stay on a camp ground with a toilet, otherwise pack the spade and toilet paper!

Taking a holiday in a tent makes you one with the wildlife, and gives you a sense of freedom away from the fast moving ways of modern life. Not only do you get the fresh air, you also feel at peace with yourself.

For first time campers it can be a bit stressful, as you always forget to pack something that you need, but if you are on a campground just ask others on the site, and they will always want to be helpful.

I have listed below 15 items that you should take with you:

Towels

Gas bottle

Thermos flask

Plastic bags

Coolbox

Tent, poles, pegs, groundsheet

Airbeds and pump

Tea towels

First aid kit

Kitchen roll

Mallet

Water & food

Plates

1 Frying pan and a pot

Sleeping bags

One of the nicest places in I have ever been camping is in Cornwall, which is in the United Kingdom for those who do not know.

One of the plus points in this area is that the temperatures are usually 4C degrees above the UK average, and so summers can be a beautiful time to go camping in the area.

Cornwall is well known for its amazing scenery, and beautiful rugged coastline, and it is a haven not only for camping, but also for those of us who enjoy a nice long walk through the wilderness.

Most campgrounds these days have the basic amenities, so you do not really need worry about digging a toilet, a number of them also have showers and baths! Sometimes campgrounds are shared with caravans, which has never been a problem for me.

Below I have listed a number of campgrounds in Cornwall.

All YearBadgers Folly: Coombe Lane, Truro, TR4 8RE, Cornwall
Bay View Farm: St. Martin, Looe, PL13 1NZ, Cornwall
Blue Hills Touring Park: Crosscombe, St. Agnes, TR5 0XP, Cornwall
Bone Valley Caravan And Camping Park: Heamoor, Penzance, TR20 8UJ, Cornwall
Bossiney Farm: Bossiney, Tintagel, PL34 0AY, Cornwall
Bude Holiday Park: Maer Lane, Bude, EX23 9EE, Cornwall
Calamankey Farm: Longdowns, Penryn, TR10 9DL, Cornwall
Cambrose Touring Park: Cambrose, Redruth, TR16 4HT, Cornwall
Camping Caradon Touring Park: Trelawne, Looe, PL13 2NA, Cornwall
Cardinney Caravan And Camping Park: St. Buryan, Penzance, TR19 6HX, Cornwall
St. Merryn, Padstow, PL28 8PN, Cornwall
Carnon Downs, Truro, TR3 6JJ, Cornwall
Chapmans Well, Launceston, PL15 9SG, Cornwall
Chiverton Cross, Truro, TR4 8HS, Cornwall
Poundstock, Bude, EX23 0EE, Cornwall
St. Stephen, St. Austell, PL26 7LE, Cornwall
St. Gennys, Bude, EX23 0NS, Cornwall
Trevellas, St. Agnes, TR5 0XX, Cornwall
St. Minver, Wadebridge, PL27 6RH, Cornwall

Having the right camping supplies can make the difference between a fun and relaxing camping trip and a total disaster. Even though disasters make for good stories later on, it’s generally a good idea to invest some time and effort into getting the right camping supplies before going on a camping trip. Camping can be really fun but not if you are wet for the entire weekend or don’t have enough food.

Fortunately, getting good camping supplies is easy these days. Buying supplies on the internet is simple. More and more camping supply shops can be seen on the high street as well.

Visiting a camping shop can be really fun for all the family. First of all, you of course get a firsthand look at the camping equipment you are about to buy. What can look really nice on the computer screen might be poor quality in real life. You can ask the staff at the shops and they will advise you on the best supplies for your trip.

You might think about buying all your supplies at a camping store if this is your first trip. People who have used camping equipment for years know what you should and shouldn’t buy online. You can use the good brands for the camping supplies but you might be able to find things much cheaper because they are not designed specifically for camping. Taking a single duvet cover with you can keep your sleeping bag clean.

The more difficult question isn’t how to get camping supplies, but what camping supplies are you going to need? The answer depends on where you are going. If you are carrying your supplies whilst hiking, you will obviously take less than if you were driving to your destination. If there’s any doubt in your mind, just bring it, and with time you’ll get a feel for what you actually use and what you don’t. If you are hiking far with your equipment, take the reverse attitude. If there’s any doubt in your mind, leave it.

By choosing what you want to do to start with, you are off to the best start of choosing that perfect family tourism destination!

Visit the Fort Adams State Park. Since you know what you want to do - you can sort through the various tourism destination locations and discover those perfect attractions that you want to go see or do. By taking a short time planning, you can also find those destinations that include a variety of attractions that are of interest to both you and your inclusive family.
Here are three Rhode Island vacation ideas that you might want to consider:

Idea #1: Blackstone River Bikeway - Providence, Rhode Island. If you are someone that enjoys seeing the natural beauty of a place then you will certainly want to visit the bike paths of Rhode Island. Here, beginning in Providence, you will ride for 10 miles in Central Fall, Lincoln, & Cumberland. The ultimate end will be a 48 mile path leading from Providence to Worchester, MA. Currently there are just the 10 miles open but it's still worth the trip.

Idea #2: Visit the Amazing Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Located on Cory's Lane in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, is Green Animals. On this small country estate, you will find a host of topiary creatures, ornamental figures, and geometric designs. In all, there are more than 80 pieces of topiary on the grounds. Of these 80, 21 of them are animals and birds.

Idea #3: One of Rhode Island's most interesting museums also happens to be the only museum of its kind in the state. The Museum of Natural History in Providence is the only museum in Rhode Island dedicated exclusively to natural and cultural history, and it is also the site of the state's only public planetarium.

Many people from all over the globe would give everything for a trip to Africa. The Jewish and Samaritan communities now can experience a <a href="http://www.kosherexpeditions.com/Trip/index.cfm?Fuseaction=sak" "target="_blank">kosher safari. This trip allows them to get acquainted with wildlife that roams untouched in their natural surroundings. In addition, they also have the heart of South Africa as their playground as there are fully guided ranger games that they can join. Being a kosher safari, they can rest assured that their Jewish needs are met. As a bonus, a visit to the local Jewish community in Cape Town is included in the safari's itinerary.

Self drive tours are a popular option in many vacation destinations including Africa. This type of holiday can be a great value for money when perfectly designed. The beauty of self-drive tours lies in the flexibility. You are able to choose your date of departure and the routing can be tailor-made to suit your needs.
Go to Africa Safari Travel for more information.

You get the freedom to explore your chosen destination at your own pace. It is almost a do-it-yourself type of vacation, save for the fact that you might still need someone reliable to assist, especially if you are first-time traveler to your destination.

Self drive tours in Kenya
Without any doubt, within the Eastern and Southern Africa, the operation of self-drive tours is most advanced in the Republic of South Africa. The country boasts a good network of well-maintained roads and an excellent spread of inns and lodges. The other countries enjoy some degree of confidence when it comes to operating self-drive tours, but they have to play catch up game with South Africa.

At the risk of sounding unfair, I dare say that, although it is rated as one of the top safari destinations, Kenya still faces minor challenges with the self-drive alternative. For some reason, this type of tour has not been able to take off in Kenya. In fact, some travel agents and tour operators will advise you – the first time visitor - against self-drive tours in the whole of East Africa! But apart for the fact that tour operators have not promoted it as a viable option to the traditional escorted tour, there seems to be a good reason for this cautionary approach.

Top on the list of reasons is the condition of the roads, followed by safety and security concerns.

The road network connecting the various attractions is very good. But the condition of most of these road is bad, to say the least. Even the roads connecting some of the major towns are in a bad shape. The traffic on the major roads and highways can be heavy and haphazard. The drivers of public service vehicles, who also share this roads, pose great danger by driving recklessly, without regard to traffic rules.

Does this mean self-drive tour is a ‘no-go’ zone in Kenya?
No. You will still enjoy a self-drive safari in Kenya, as long as you get to know in advance what to expect, design a good itinerary and prepare well for the tour. Refer to Vacation Packages for more information.

In principle, any itinerary that can be done as an escorted tour can be done on a self-drive basis.

For those seeking to drive themselves into the national parks and game reserves, get ready for long driving hours on unpaved, rough roads – or muddy, if it is wet. This can be fun as long as you do not get stuck in the middle of the park. The good news is that with the mobile telephone network covering most of Kenya, help will be just a phone call way.
Generally, the wettest months in Kenya will be April, May and part of June. If you must travel during this season, you have no options when choosing the type of vehicle. You are limited to ‘off-road’ vehicles, sometimes called 4WD. These are better equipped for wet conditions.

You accommodation needs
The major towns in Kenya offer acceptable standards of hotel services. But the farther you move away from the major towns, the lower the standards get. However, as you enter the national parks and game reserves, services gets better.
If you want a specific type of accommodation, or would like to stay in a particular lodge within the parks, please book in advance. This way you avoid the possible disappointment that comes with finding that the facility booked up. Keep this in mind especially if you intend to travel to Kenya during the high travel seasons – generally between July and October. You can get around this challenge by contacting the lodge directly to secure your accommodation space, or by booking through an established booking agent.

Your safety and security concerns while on self-drive tour in
Kenya.

While on your self-drive tours, take general precautions that will ensure a trouble-free vacation. Always keep the vehicle locked when unattended. Lock the doors at all times. Do not leave luggage or valuables visible in the vehicle. Do not give lifts to strangers and hitchhikers.

Get wise and enjoy your self-drive tour in Kenya!
If you intend to visit Kenya for the first time and would like to try the self-drive option, your first task would be to make contact with a Kenya travel specialist, who will listen to your needs and give you practical suggestions to come up with the best itinerary. As you engage your appointed travel specialist, the checklist below will guide you on what to get done:

*Ensure your accommodation arrangements are in place.
*Get the right type of vehicle considering the time of the year and route.
*Choose the ‘unlimited mileage’ option on your car-rental deal.
*Insist on securing a vehicle that is not older than 12 months.
*Get assurance that you will get a detailed tourist map.
*Enjoy your self-drive safari in Kenya. Visit Travel Deals for further information.

Summer is here and several families are heading out to go on their summer holidays . This article will detail some good ideas for a family to do if they enjoy nature and want to be a part of nature on their vacation . It will explore trips to 3 states: Colorado, Alaska & Wyoming. It will touch on staying in one of the most luxurious resorts in the world at Cordillera right near Beaver Creek, Colorado to staying in more rustic Alaska cabins that were made from cabin kits. It will also detail visiting Jackson Hole and the National Parks that surround that area .

The first vacation is the most rustic one going to the great state of Alaska. This would be great for the adventurous family that loves to camp and get dirty in the process of exploring new sights. A great way to see Alaska is to find a local fishing guide to bring you on a tour close in to the less traveled areas . These guides typically use water planes to go in and out of the wilderness which will offer you a bird's eye view you will always remember . The unbelievable views in addition to the majestic bears fishing for salmon are all memories your family will appreciate for years to come while visiting Alaska.

The next vacation for a nature loving family is to go to the Rocky Mountain high state of Colorado. This would be for the family that loves the outdoors but also loves luxury resorts too . The top resort in Colorado is Cordillera which sits just above Beavercreek. The views are spectacular and the resort itself is unbelievable . Whether you want to ski or snowshoe in the winter or want to ride a horse or go white water rafting in the summer months this is a great place to be active for your family.

The last vacation suggestion is to head to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This is one of the most gorgeous parts of America and complete with 2 awesome and most visited state parks. It is the location of the famous Yellowstone as well as the Grand Teton Park. It is suggested to spend a minimum of a week to be able to see all that you can in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons as well as Jackson itself. A trip to Old Faithful geyser is a great thing to do and staying at the historical Old Faithful Inn is an fabulous place to stay . In order to get a reservation there, call a year in advance to get in. The wildlife sightings in these National parks is great often seeing a herd of buffalo stroll directly down the road by your car for great photo opportunities. Top off camping at the parks by spending some time in the most sophisticated cowboy town in the United States of Jackson Hole.

whichever state you select to visit make sure are some of the most gorgeous mountain settings you will ever view .

If you’re planning a safari holiday in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, you’ll find yourself and your fellow travelers getting into numerous debates about all the magnificent animals you encounter. Go to overland tours for more information.

Not all of us can be as knowledgeable as David Attenborough, but if you want to wise up on a few facts to impress your fellow holidaymakers on a South Africa Safari, here are a few tips to keep you ahead of the pack!

ZEBRA

Why do Zebras have stripes?

A herd of zebra is a stunning sight for anyone taking a holiday in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, but many are left wondering why on earth these creatures have such a bizarre look. There are three main theories:

1) Identity:
Zebras’ stripes are like fingerprints with each zebra having a different set of stripes. As a newborn, the young zebra stays close to its mother and learns her stripes. The foal is then able to find its’ mother just by sight.

2) Camouflage:
Stripes help the zebra hide in grass from predators as well as making it more difficult for a lion to pick out any single zebra from a herd for attack. The stripes may also be confusing the visual system of the blood-sucking tsetse fly.

3) Thermoregulation:
The stripes help the zebra to have a more controlled body temperature, as they correspond with fat patterns beneath the skin, serving as a thermoregulatory mechanism.

ELEPHANT

How do elephants get so big?

On a South Africa safari, the elephants you are likely to encounter wondering along and munching on bushes are African elephants, which are distinguishable from their Asian cousins by their much larger ears. The average large Elephant bull reaches a weight of 5.5 tons and some males can be as heavy as 6.5 tons, while females average about 3.5 to 4 tons.

A large elephant bull will eat as much as 200 kg of grasses, leaves, bamboo, twigs, bark, roots, fruits, seeds and flowers a day, although only 40% of that is digested as they have a very weak digestive system. To get through all that food, Elephants eat for an average of 18 hours a day. Refer to african adventure tours for more information.

GIRAFFE

What is the collective noun for giraffes, and why?

You’re quite likely to spot a giraffe on a safari holiday in South Africa. The tallest of all land-living animal species, there are over 9,000 giraffes in Kruger National Park, and, if you’re lucky, one of these quiet and inquisitive creatures might stop to take a look, very politely, into your car window!

The collective noun for Giraffes is a ‘journey’. The reason for this name is that they tend to move around - if a Giraffe feeds on the same Acacia tree for too long, the tree starts to defend itself by increasing the levels of tannin in the leaves. The increase of tannin makes the leaves taste very bitter and dry, forcing the Giraffe to move on.

LION

Do lions eat people?

Lions wouldn’t usually choose to hunt for people. In Africa their preferred menu generally consists of large mammals including wildebeest, impalas, zebras, buffalo and warthogs.
However, if you’re heading for a safari holiday in South Africa, beware! As a result of immigration from Mozambique, the lions close to the Mozambique / Kruger National Park border have regular encounters with people and certain prides have therefore taken up the unfortunate habit of man-eating.

RHINOCEROUS

What is the difference between the black rhino and the white rhino?

You can spot both of these rhino species on a holiday in South Africa, and surprisingly there is no colour difference between the two. The Dutch named the White Rhino the ‘Weid mond Rhino’, and the English thought they were saying ‘white’, so it was just a misunderstanding that stuck (and has baffled tourists ever since). However, there are other ways to tell the difference between the two.

The Black Rhino is smaller than the White Rhino, with a small hooked shaped mouth for feeding on trees and shrubs. The Black Rhinos’ natural head posture faces upward, so there is no need for it to lift its’ head when feeding on trees. There are around 350 Black Rhinos in Kruger National Park.

The White Rhino is far larger than Black Rhino, behind the elephant it is probably the most massive remaining land animal in the world, along with the Indian Rhinoceros and some male hippopotamuses. The White Rhino has a broad flat mouth to feed off large quantities of grass. It has a hump above the shoulders and a fold of skin at the lower shoulders. There are over 2000 White Rhinos in Kruger National Park. Visit overland safari tours for further information.

It is early morning and you're awakened by the unmistakable patter of running feet in your attic. You quickly dismiss the thought that it is a thief. It's too small and besides, what thief would be running around the attic? Perhaps, it's a raccoon or a skunk then? How about a simple country mouse? Go to Game ranger training for more information.

And you quickly come to the core of the problem. Once you know it's an animal up there, who are you going to call for aid? Not Ghostbusters, definitely. And surely, not SWAT. What are they going to do; shoot the poor thing?

--- Wildlife in Your Attic ---
The rapid growth of urban and suburban areas across the country is eating into the natural habitats of many animals. These displaced animals camp out in your backyard, make their home on your porch or slip into your attic.

These animals, though generally harmless, are indirectly dangerous. They can be like recalcitrant house pets and chew on your electrical wiring which can cause a fire. They will eat holes into your roof and ceiling as well and let the rain in.

Health-wise, there is no telling what diseases these wild animals carry: rabies is very high on the list. Bird or bat droppings that are allowed to accumulate in eaves and attics carry the risk of diseases such as histoplasmosis. And what homeowner would be happy when, on stepping outside for a breath of fresh air, he is confronted by the sight of a skunk family having feasting on his garden?

The increasing number of animal-human encounters has bred the need for wildlife management professionals who have the knowledge, equipment and experience to help homeowners deal with such problems.

--- The Growth of Wildlife Management ---
Admittedly, nuisance wildlife management was not really needed before. Then, there was a distinct border line between human and wildlife habitats. Population growth and urban/suburban expansion meant that people were 'trespassing' into traditional wildlife habitats. Most wildlife - especially the smaller ones - quickly learned to adapt to the human invasion.

Homes may be for humans, but wildlife can find a warm, comfortable nest in human households. Food is easy to find; they just need to dig around the garbage. If they're herbivores, humans are prone to planting gardens (both ornamental and vegetable) where the food is out there for the picking. Most homes have numerous nooks and crannies, as well as insulation (especially in cold areas) which provide a warm and safe environment for raising animal families.
Animals mean humans no harm. However, these animals can still present a danger to the humans in the house. Refer to Field guide training for more information.

This is where wildlife management professionals come in. They have the training, temperament and equipment to handle the problem professionally, efficiently and humanely. They take special care not to harm the wildlife and they are forever looking for ways to reduce the conflict between humans and wildlife.

--- Prevention is the Key ---
The primary role of a wildlife management professional is to stop a problem from happening, and the best way to do this is by helping homeowners prevent it from happening in the first place.
If you're a homeowner in a recently developed urban/suburban area - one which was only recently uninhabited - it would be best to call in a wildlife expert to check out your house. If you want to do it yourself, check out your home's roof as well as sidings for entry points that wildlife can use.

Check out your chimney to ensure that no animal has moved in that way. Also have a regulated chimney cap installed. Inspect your porch, your roof and your sidings for holes where animals can comfortably burrow. Get up into the attic and check your attic screens and look for animal tracks. Torn screens and animal tracks are sure signs that an animal has either taken up residence with you, or is about to move in.

If there are animals already in residence, call in a wildlife management expert to evict them for you. Visit Trails guide for further information.

When traveling on a budget, one of the most often questions is whether it is best to travel independently, making your own airfare, hotel and sightseeing reservations, or choose a package tour where everything is set up for you in advance. Go to Vacation Packages for further information.

There is unfortunately no easy answer to this question, as it is largely dependent on the location and the specific deals that are available.

For instance, travel to European destinations are often less costly to book on your own, especially when the airlines are running specials of European airfares in the off season.

On the other hand, travel to many exotic locations, like Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, South Africa, Thailand and India, are often much less costly when booked through a package company or travel agent.

That is because these tour operators often have special deals with the national airlines of these companies, and with very nice resort hotels, to provide considerable discounts in exchange for a steady flow of business.

For instance, last year I traveled solo to Egypt from New York for a grand total of $1,100, including airfare, an excellent hotel, daily breakfast, airport transfers, and daily sightseeing tours, including guided tours of the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx.

This is far less than I could have booked on my own, since airfare alone would have run me over $700. The key to this great deal was the relationship of the tour operator with Egyptair and the hotel at which we stayed.

Similar deals exist for other locations, notably India, China and Taiwan. So be sure to check on the availability of these package deals when shopping for a budget travel deal.

Of course, some great deals can be had on your own as well, and this is often a great way to go, especially if you are a solo traveler. Solo travelers often have difficulty getting those great deals on package deals, since the required single supplement can often ruin the deal. Go to Africa Safari Travel for more information.

It is also important to find out exactly what is, and what is not included, in any package you are considering. Many package deals have optional excursions built in, and these extras can add considerable cost.

Be sure to ask for a detailed daily itinerary to determine if you will be left on your own if you fail to take these optionals. Also ask for a detailed list of these optional excursions, including full descriptions and prices, then carefully compare the total price to what you could find on your own.

If you are traveling on your own, be sure to start shopping early, especially if you are traveling by air. The important thing to remember is that airlines allocate only so many seats for those advertised low fares, and if you fail to act quickly you may be out of luck.

It is important to book the airfare, and the hotel, as early as possible to ensure the lowest possible prices.

Ultimately, the decision of whether to choose a package deal or independent travel is up to each individual travelers. It is important to carefully compare package prices with those for independent travel to the same location.

It is also important to take your own personal travel style into account. Some people are more comfortable with a packaged tour, particularly to an unfamiliar location, while others relish the freedom from schedules that independent travel provides. Visit Travel Deals for further information.

What happens when you cross a lion with a tiger? No, this isn't a joke and it doesn't involve scientists puzzling away mixing DNA in test tubes, the simple answer is: A Liger. A cross between a male lion and a female tiger, the liger is the largest cat in the word and resembles a tiger with diffused stripes. Go to overland tours for more information.

In the past uncommon circumstances where tigers were forced into ranges belonging to Asiatic lions, there were rare reports of tigresses mating with lions in the wild. Such situations are now exceedingly rare as present-day territories of the two animals no longer combine and so ligers are a hard-to-find cat.

The known existence of ligers dates back the the early 19th century in Asia with an engraving by Etienne Geoggrey Saint-Hilaire of liger cubs born in 1824 and examples of the big cat were depicted in other paintings and writings since. 1935 saw the birth of four ligers in a South African zoo, three of which lived to 1953 with a male standing a foot and a half taller than a full grown male lion and weighing a staggering 750 lb.

If you bred a lion and tiger you'd be unlikely to expect a stroppy tabby cat but the the size of the liger is something special indeed. Imprinted genes - not expressed on the parent but playing a part in hybrid growth - mean that the young often grow larger than what is typical for either parent breed. A living example of the size of the liger can be found at Jungle Island where the largest non-obese liger spends his days. The Book of World Records lists him as the largest car and Hercules is believed to weigh over 1,100 lbs and is over twice the size of a male lion or tiger. His size has made him a star outside of Jungle Island and he has appeared on many an American TV show. Refer to african adventure tours for more information.

It's not just the size of their parent breeds that the ligers inherit and exceed; the big cat temperament also runs through their genes. Ligers are very aggressive cats and extremely hard to work with. Along with the stripes, the liger also carries a few of the tiger-like characteristics of the parent breed and, in strong contrast to the nature lions, love water.

When ligers and tigons - the product of a male tiger and female lion, though smaller than ligers - have been mentioned, the common belief was that the cat is sterile. While it is true that male ligers are sterile the females can usually reproduce. Accordingly, a male and female liger cannot breed together. It's when a female liger breeds that the names get a bit strange; if she breeds with a male tiger the offspring is a ti-liger whereas the young from a pairing with a male lion are li-ligers.

The breeding of ligers is frowned upon by many, as it is mixing two different species, and accredited members of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums never have, nor will, bred ligers. Some zoos display these strange yet beautiful animals though as they acknowledge that ligers have occurred by accident. It is perhaps this refusal to deliberately breed them that makes ligers extremely rare, even more so than tigons. So while it is unlikely that you will see one, at least you'll know that it's more that just an over-sized lion with stripes.

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."

This quote by Helen Keller essentially sums up life in the fast lane - although the "fast lane" is not about speed. It's about stepping out of the normal lane of everyday life and making changes in your life by doing things you would not normally think of doing. Or that even present a challenge for you. Go to overland tours for more information.

The word "adventure," depending on where you live or the life you have already lived, will roll out a different movie of imagination in everyone's mind.

For some, adventure would be an Indiana Jones or Pirates of the Caribbean type of life - cheating and tempting death while seeking a treasure never before uncovered. Yet, for others, it could be deciding to wear a different color outfit, or try a different meal on the menu instead of the same old standby that can always be trusted.

Take an inventory of your life, a snapshot of where you were last year and where you are today.

Many of us tend to stay in our comfort zone. We don't speak in front of crowds, even when asked. We don't get involved in different volunteer organizations because it may mean that we need to come out of our shell. We don't speak up at a meeting because we don't want to attract attention, or we're not sure what others will think.

So, why change? Why should we come out of our comfort zone and stretch a little at least?

Simply because it is good for us and it is good for those around us.

People who exercise after a long sabbatical from any strenuous activity usually experience aches and pains at first. Their body goes into an allergic state, breaking out in sweat and shortness of breath. Before long though, after a regular diet of healthy movement, their threshold becomes greater and higher as their body becomes fit and healthy.

The same can be said when we stretch out of our daily mundane lifestyle. We become capable of handling more, of giving more, of being a better person than we ever thought we could be. We develop goals and dreams we never thought possible. That lifestyle we always wanted but never thought possible suddenly comes within reach.

Even when things don't go as planned; an energizing person who has become a positive thinker will learn from the experience and grow from it.

So, how can you turn your life into a daring adventure?

First, leave the Indian Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean stuff to the moviemakers - unless you want to be a moviemaker - then off you go! Refer to african adventure tours for more information.

But for now, let's concentrate on today and your day-to-day life. Where can you turn life into an adventure? Here are some suggestions:

- If you can, how about leaving the car at home and walking to where you want to go - or even more daring - ride a bicycle.

- How about trying a new meal every time you go to a restaurant?

- Say hello to that new person at work.

- Start a conversation instead of waiting to join in. Think of a list of question or statements that you could use to start that conversation.

- Buy the bright-colored, stand-out-from-the-crowd shirt, instead of the low-key blend-in type that says, "I'm practical".

- Get up twenty minutes early and read a book.

- Go see a movie you thought would be boring - you may be pleasantly surprised.

- Stay up and watch a movie with your kids.

- Get involved in a sport.

- Take a course from Toastmasters.

- Learn to belly dance.

- Say yes to doing something you fear, especially when others believe in you and are already encouraging you.

- Learn how to text message on a cellular phone.

- Learn Karate or some kind of self-defense.

- Fly in a small airplane if you never have.

- Meet one new person a week - that's fifty-two in a year. You're bound to become friends with at least one or two of them.

- Go to church.

Take a short look at your day and note where you could be more adventurous. Over time, you'll notice a change for the better -maybe even a new you.

Happy adventures! Visit overland safari tours for further information.

You have decided to take a safari and without hesitation I would advise a Serengeti Safari in Northern Tanzania. A Safari across the endless plains of the Serengeti to witness the last, great migration on earth is an unforgettable experience. The whole safari across the huge Serengeti is a package with an abundance of animals rivaled no where else in Africa. It is compounded with majestic landscapes and the fascinating tribes you meet. It is here you will realize that you are in Africa proper. Go to hunting safari for more information.

The great migration safari in the Serenegeti comprises of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest in a never ending cycle of movement, closely followed by the predators looking for an easy meal. The Wildebeest follow the rains and migration is therefore as unpredictable as these rains. It is the last remaining great migration on our planet, and as such, it is a must to take a safari to witness first hand this great event.

Many safari companies try to predict the whereabouts of the animals. The success of this is dependent on three main things. a. The rains being on time. b. The rains lasting long enough to influence the animal to move. c. The experience of the company organizing migration safaris in the Serengeti. The problem with these predictions is that in recent years the rains have not been on time or they have even failed, leaving some safari-makers with clients in the wrong lodges in the wrong area of the Serengeti. Recently many people on safari in Kenya [as the migration crosses the border and for a short time the migration is in Kenya] experienced the failure of the long rains and with this failure most of the animals remained in the Northern Serengeti, leaving many people on the safari not only in the wrong lodges but in the wrong country!

How to solve this problem involves a little work on your part, in researching your subject and booking your safari vacation with care. Below are a few simple steps as a basic guideline.

1. If you are wanting your safari from late July through to the end of September/October then it is necessary to book well in advance. This time of year is so busy that most of the lodges will become full.

2. Have you heard of overcrowding in the Serenegeti? If you have, the chances are the safari took place between these over crowded summer months and most probably the safari was in the Seronera Valley, in the central Serengeti. This area of the Serengeti has a good, reliable concentration of animals with a year round water supply. Many safari companies [especially the bargain priced safaris] are lazy and send their clients to this part of the Serengeti only. This ensures lower mileage, bigger profits and happy clients because of the abundance of animals. Do ensure your safari includes two areas of the Serengeti. One should be the south or the north of this huge park, depending on the time of year and where the migration is heading. Refer to hunting safaris for more information.

3. If you have the luxury of booking when tourists are few in Tanzania, then try to leave the actual booking of the safari until a few weeks before your departure. If it is low season, March through to the end of June, then the safaris [that is the accommodation and to a lesser extent transport] are at bargain basement rates. Keep checking on the whereabouts of the migration and then book your accommodation through a quality operator accordingly. Safari operators should be able to get luxury accommodation cheaper than your booking directly - this is how the safari operators make their profit.

4. Unfortunately the easiest way to a successful migration safari in the Serengeti is also the most expensive. Book a luxury safari in a semi permanent luxury tented lodge. They are semi permanent as they move several times per year as the migration moves. This almost guarantees you will be up close and personal with the great migration.

[Do not let the tent bit put you off. They are huge tents with double beds and furniture and even en-suite bathrooms. Some boast of private butlers for each tent. They are small camps and have an intimate relationship with the surroundings.]

How it is possible to keep a check on the whereabouts of the migration is easier said than done. There are many sites that claim to have regular updates but some I checked recently are almost two years past their sell by date. I would suggest keeping in touch with two or three of the small boutique tour operators in Tanzania – they have vehicles with drivers who are returning from the Serengeti every week and so know the movements of the animals. They will not mind keeping you well informed of what is happening in order to [hopefully] get a safari booked.

Take time and plan your safari carefully as the planning is a part of the adventure. Take time to research a little and make sure your ground operator in Tanzania is willing to make your safari special. Many of the safari operators are [rather sadly] only bothered about making a quick buck and the client’s wishes are of no concern to them. Beware of such companies as they exist at the luxury end as well as the budget end of the spectrum. Tanzania and the Serengeti are amazing. Ensure that with careful planning your safari experience will be an exciting and memorable one. Visit hunting safaris for further information.

Sun bathing on the beach for most of my vacation isn't my idea of fun. Please don't misunderstand me, at times I really do enjoy relaxing on a sandy beach, but, I also like to travel a little inland too. I thoroughly enjoy taking in the atmosphere, I really like to indulge in the local foods and sampling the culture. If the truth is to be known each year I enjoy visiting new places and I try extremely hard trying to discover somewhere totally different. This is the most probable reason why I enjoy visiting the Hebrides island named the Isle of Harris and why I frequently choose to hire a self catering cottage on the Isle of Harris.

Harris is a small island situated just off the west coast of Scotland's mainland. Harris is one of hundreds of small isles which are known as the the Outer Hebrides, although to be accurate the UK postal address is the Western Isles. Accepted as either the Western Isles or the Outer Hebrides the islands are beautiful in the extreme and incredibly unique. For those people who have to have some time spent relaxing on a sandy beach the Isle of Harris has a multitude to choose from and virtually all are incredibly picturesque and more often than not deserted. It would seem as though around each twist and turn you are met by a truly awesome sight. The roads on the Isle of Harris are drastically different to those experienced on the Scottish mainland in some areas the roads are single track and you will often be forced to used passing places to safely let past traffic from ahead and also from behind. Just keep it in mind that you come to a stop on the left of the road. However, if the vehicle wishing to get past is very big and the passing place is to your right hand side you may move over into it to allow the said vehicle pass easily but at all time take care not to drive off the road too much.

One of the primary reasons people visit the Isle of Harris is to enjoy the the landscape and culture of the islands. The Isle of Harris culture has, over 100's of years been massively influenced by the Scottish, English, Celtic and Norse races. These days in general most folk speak in the Gaelic language and though some speak English, it is more often their 2nd language. The Harris inhabitants are amongst the most friendly on the planet and their hospitality is known across the world. The Harris folk are extremely proud of the immensely beautiful Harris countryside and go to some length to keep the place tidy so it is incredibly important not to leave litter.

Dotted along the west coast of the Isle of Harris you will find some of the most stunningly beautiful golden sandy beaches in the whole of Scotland, and many people say the whole of Great Britain. You will notice that the waters are very clear and it is true to say that the Isle of Harris beaches are incredibly clean. Unfortunately it is impossible to avoid debris washing up from ships in the Atlantic but surprisingly there isn't much.

If you are thinking about a visit to Harris the why not consider staying in a self catering house on the Isle of Harris please visit http://www.isleofharrisselfcateringhouse.co.uk/

What type of adventures appeal to you? The kind where you push your body or your mind? Adventure travel is not one thing to all people. Some people would be thrilled and exhilarated to raft down a river in Colorado. For other people, that's a regular weekend activity. Not too adventuresome at all. Those people might love to try hang gliding or sky diving, while for the former person, this is tantamount to committing suicide. Obviously, these people's definitions of adventure travel vary greatly. Go to overland tours for more information.

That's what's so great about it, though. You can tailor-make a vacation to fit your wants and needs. You just have to know what you want, and where you want to go. Write up a list of the top ten or so things you want to experience in your life and that will get you started as you look through all the fabulous opportunities out there for adventure travel.

If you want to really get outside your personal comfort zone, there are any number of adventure trips you can take that will do that. You can try bicycling along the Tour de France route or hiking fourteen miles in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. How about zipping at 30 miles per hour on a wire line strung between two trees in the jungle, catching air on your snowboard in a Super pipe or white water rafting on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon? Parasailing, riding in a bi-plane or piloting a fighter plane, and rock climbing up a sheer canyon side each provide different thrills too. If you're out for thrills, think carefully about the extent of adventure you'll really enjoy. Refer to african adventure tours for more information.

Does this sound like too much adrenalin for you? Floating overhead in a hot air balloon while watching lions stalk prey on the plains below or walking through Cambodia's Angkor Thom, where temple ruins nearly smothered by giant trees, are gentler styles of adventure travel. So is walking on trails through the Amazon jungle looking at parrots or catching sight of caimans (types of alligators) sleeping on the river banks at night. To the more laid-back person, this is about adventuresome as you can get.

Adventurous trips are not necessarily something that puts your life at risk. They are travels that change you, enchant you and ensure memories for a lifetime. Some travelers go for the physical thrills and the opportunities that stretch a body's physical capabilities to the utmost degree. Other travelers would rather use their minds, eyes, hearing and cameras to enhance their experiences.

Each person's definition of adventure travel is unique. What's yours? Just don't go on a trip that has activities that you would never participate in. Remember, what is adventuresome to you, might not be to someone else. If you're still deciding, call up a few travel agents for ideas, or visit your local library for exotic places to visit and things to do. Scour the web for packages and deals, and before you know it, you'll be having the time of your life, doing what you've always wanted to do. Visit overland safari tours for further information.

History lives in the Greek revival house built in 1834 by James Craik. Taking some of your West Virginia travel time and visiting the Craik-Patton house will afford you the opportunity to see what life was like for the families that have lived in the house and how they impacted the lives of their historically significant occurrences in the history of the United States.

Before George Washington was made President of the United States he was a surveyor exploring land in and around West Virginia. Along with him traveled his personal physician, Dr. Craik. Following him into the office of the Presidency Dr. Craik's son acted as Washington secretary. The house in which the Craik's lived now gives tours to remind people what life with the petticoats, carriages and more where like for this generation.

Not only was the house an important part of the history of the Craik's but it also plays a historical part in the life of the Patton family who had a lead in the Civil War and a grandson who was important during WWII. George Patton will be remembered as the strong willed, outspoken leader of his division during WWII. The house that is known as the Craik-Patton house was owned by his family when the Craik's had moved on to other locations for other positions.

Hunting game for food, clothing and shelter is a big part of the story of the human race. It predates the human civilization we know today in many ways. There are many discoveries that are being made that confirm that notion. An Asian fossilized spearhead discovered recently was dated at over 16,000 years old, for example. There is also evidence that we used larger animals for food almost two million years ago. Go to hunting safari for more information.

The earliest form of hunting involved, as far as the experts can tell, involved weapons like spears or bow and arrows shot from a distance. Believe it or not, our ancestors caught their food using the same method we use to catch the bus to work when we're late. We ran after it. Before he learned to use long range weapons, early man had no other way of catching his dinner than being persistent and wearing it down over a long trek, sometimes even in the oppressive midday heat.

Some early hunters would chase antelope over 20 miles in heat over 100 degrees. Persistence hunting would be the order of the day. African hunters would chase a Kudu, which is an early version of the antelope, by startling the animal so it ran away. They would chase the beast at a fast pace, and, while the faster Kudu would always be further ahead, the hunters would catch up to it when it took time to rest in the shade. The hunter would eventually finish the animal off with a spear, but not until he was at close range. This type of hunting is still practised in Southern Africa. Refer to hunting safaris for more information.

With changes in human society, hunting evolved. As we began to grow our own food and keep animals, hunting became a specialized task. Not just the traditional masculine endeavour anymore, hunting became a specific duty with tradesmen acquiring precise training. The other trend was hunting becoming the sport and leisure domain of the upper classes. It was here that the English word 'game' became common.

Hunting has had other effects on our modern society as well. Various animals have been used to aid the hunter, but none has become as important to us as the dog. The use of the ancestors of the wolf to retrieve prey and be our loyal companions has set the dog apart. Its domestication, which took thousands of years, is considered a remarkable accomplishment. The tie between hunting man and dog goes so far back that the very word for hunting in ancient Greek is derived from the word dog.

Perhaps the most famous type of hunting is the safari, which was popularized by the American author Ernest Hemingway. The word itself is from the Swahili, meaning long journey, and the most common type of safari occurs in Africa. It was frequently several days or weeks of camping while stalking or hunting big game, but in a more modern sense, it also encompassed trips through African national parks to hunt or watch the big game.

Unlike their predecessors who ran their prey down years before, the modern African hunter often acquires a special licence and enlists the aid of local professionals. There is even a type of modern safari where no animals are killed. The photo-safari is exactly what its name implies and a Polish photographer first used the term 'bloodless hunt'. Visit hunting safaris for more information.

The African continent is immense and holds many mysteries and wonders that can make camping safaris a marvelous experience. Many African countries have wildlife parks and reserves that also boast fine camping facilities. In addition, there is also a vast selection of campgrounds that can be used as a base for safari travel excursions, which are affiliated and located near major hotels, lodges and resorts in a number of countries. Go to overland tours for more informaton.

A camping safari is a very common choice for safari holidays partly because it tends to be less expensive than staying at the fine lodges and resorts, although there are also some luxury safari options for camping out in Africa as well. In general, travelers who are planning to take in the sights and sounds of Africa while camping have the option of either arranging for a private camping safari or a group camping safari.

Camping safaris that are geared toward private groups are designed around any group of two people or more who are traveling together but who are not especially interested in sharing their experience with those they don't know, outside of the safari guide. These private groups travel in a vehicle separate from any other tour groups and have separate camping facilities for their private use.

Those who prefer a private camping safari will also be exclusively sharing any facilities of the campground and all of the meals are also shared amongst themselves. Guests who are on a private safari won't be joined by any others who are on the same safari tour or who might have a similar itinerary. Throughout the trip, they travel exclusively together.

The group camping safari is for individuals or small groups who feel that part of the experience of safari holidays is traveling with others and getting to know them during the adventure, so that by the end of the safari travel they no longer consider each other as strangers. On this type of safari travel the whole group travels together in the safari vehicles and they share their meals and the entire camp facility, and in some instances will even share larger, community types of tent accommodations. Refer to african adventure tours for more information.

A group camping safari is not only a good way to get to know others who share interests in adventuresome safari travels, but it is also a very effective way to reduce the cost of an African safari. This can make such a trip more affordable and feasible for people who might not otherwise be able to bear the expense of a private camping safari.

Some camping safaris take place at a permanent campground where the safari tour group will stay at a fixed "under canvas" camp. These are essentially tent "homes" that are primarily found in game reserves or at national parks. These camps have "permanent" tented sanitary facilities and a dining hall that is shared by all campers. These kind of camping facilities are popular and can serve as a base camp for walking safaris.

There are also mobile camping safaris which entail having the entire group traveling together with their all of their equipment and supplies in the safari travel vehicles. This gives the group an opportunity to cover greater distances and go deeper into the wilderness and gives the flexibility of stopping at sites that attract their interests. No matter what type of camping safari you choose, you will be sure to return home with memorable experiences emblazoned in your memory. Visit overland safari tours for further information.

On your trip into the world of Alabama tourism you will have the opportunity to step back in time when you visit the Tuskegee Airmen Historic Site. The year is 1942 and the African-American men that knew how to fly or wanted to learn to fly were finally admitted into the Army Air Corp in Tuskegee, Alabama to help with the war effort. Prior to that date they had been relatively ignored or left out of the flying world by the military. Even when they were admitted to Tuskegee they were trained in a segregated field but they wanted to fly, they wanted to help with the war and they became a valuable asset to the war effort with their skill and abilities.

Today you can visit the Museum and see the films that tell how the Tuskegee Airmen were trained and their story. You can take a tour of Hanger #1 Museum on some weekends and see what is available at the museum in regard to the planes that were flown and hear some of the stories that have been passed on from the experiences.

Although there are not many of the original members of the Tuskegee Airmen left their contribution to the winning of the war will stay with us always. Come and see how the world has changed since the days when the Tuskegee Airmen entered the war as a segregated division of the military.

Larsen's Camp Samburu in Kenya is an opportunity to experience a luxury African Safari Camp with a turn of the century atmosphere.

It opened twenty years ago and lies on the banks of the river Uaso Nyiro over three hundred kilometres north of Nairobi on the border of the old Northern Frontier Province. Go to hunting safari for more information.

Larsen's is best described as very stylish and upmarket, very comfortable and old colonial. The situation overlooking the river is classical luxury African safari camp.

What you will find here at Larsen's is a casual elegance along with great style, all very laid back, and incredibly comfortable. If you associate a degree of discomfort on an African Safari then Larsen's will show you what can be achieved to turn your African Safari into a luxury African Safari.

In terms of your accommodation, there are twenty spacious tents all raised up on wooden platforms, facing the river, so you can watch the animals from your own private verandah. Each is well equipped with good bathrooms and lovely showers.

When it comes to Dining, then Larsen's Camp more than justifies its' huge reputation. Whether it be dining by candlelight with fine china and silver cutlery, receiving immaculate table service, or your breakfast and barbecues cooked before you and for you, the food is quite superb. The dining tent at Larsen's opens on three sides, and of course also overlooks the river.
All is relatively tranquil, helped in part by the policy of there being no children under the age of seven.

Of course it doesn't matter how beautiful your Luxury African safari camp is, what you want to see is plenty of wildlife, and Larsen's will not disappoint.

You will have two game drives in your day, the first early morning 6-9am and the other 4-6.30pm approximately. You'll be woken with tea or coffee and biscuits, and breakfast is served after the morning drive.
The day is very much your own, and the new swimming pool and spa with great views helps you to relax, and there is also a game viewing platform as well. Refer to hunting safaris for more information.

The great thing about the game drives are the fact hat you can be in your own vehicle and not jammed in a mini bus.

The great thing about the game drives are the fact that you will be in your own vehicle and not jammed in a mini bus. The safari starts when you are met at Samburu airstrip, and you will see Grevy's Zebra, giraffe, leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, impala, even cheetah.
All this without mentioning the river which is like a magnet for wildlife, and with luck you will see elephants rolling around in the shallow water, as well as a huge number of animals regularly coming to drink.

Larsen's Camp is special, Samburu is special, and is a 'must visit' stopover probably for three nights on any luxury Afican safari. Visit hunting safaris for further information.

Although there is a large market for competition with other African countries, Kenya still assumes its top place in harboring visitors from all over the world. Much of Kenya is usually deemed as safari, which in turn made it famous. Go to overland tours for more information.

Even before the birth of other countries to compete for tourist market, Kenya has already emerged as the pioneer. During its discovery, famous people such as President Roosevelt, Prince Edward, Ernest Hemmingway and the likes have already explored the safaris of Kenya. This created a snob appeal though. In a sense, the big people went to Kenya safari because the world expects them to while those who have the resources to travel do because it seemed to be one of the certifications to reach the 'up society'.

In our modern-day however, Kenya safari is already open for all people who are willing to enjoy wildlife and culture.

Because of its unfailing guarantee to have you experience the big five (namely lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) its fame is unequalled by any other regions who themselves offer other wonders. Kenya ecosystems cover an array of other substantial members of the savanna.

Kenya safari does not only rely its fame on its vast resources for wildlife, it is also known for its kaleidoscopic landscapes which are characterized with highlands, rift valley, grasslands, moonscape at the north and the snow capped, magnificent Mount Kenya.

Considering the over 50 wildlife reserves and national parks, it would be impossible for one visitor to not love any of them. It is off course expected that one cannot visit all them in a single trip. So unless you have all the resources to travel and take the off beaten tracks, it would be best if you would plan your trip well and organize your voyage so you may get the bests of all worlds.

For travelers with limited budget, your best bets would be Amboseli, Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Aberdares, and Tsavo. And for those who have time and money, you may explore great laces such as Kakamega Forest, Meru, Marsabit, Mount Elgon, Mount Kenya, and Shimba Hills.

Even with a big budget or low, Maasai Mara is still a definite stop over. This is the place where all filming of wildlife in Kenya are created. This haven of wildlife offers immense varieties of animal species that it would be hard to believe that they are all contained in a single place.

All of these perhaps contribute to the perception that wildlife lovers should and must visit Kenya safaris at least one time in their lives so as to witness a great part of the creation.

Being the world's largest exporter of diamonds, Botswana no longer has to compete with the tourist market. Yet as grand as its land offers for safari fanatics, it can't help but attract as many tourists as its resources may allow. However, the government decrees the limited number of people allowed to penetrate Botswana safaris, thus the significant increase in prices, which ultimately made it as an exclusive safari destination. Refer to african adventure tours for more information.

Kalahari dessert dominates 84% of all Botswana. Though it is a dessert by name, Kalahari is not much like a dessert, as we may perceive Sahara. Except for occasional sand dunes, Kalahari is mostly covered with vegetation characterized by bushes, grasslands, trees and scrubs. However, water is meager thus the dessert label.

Visitors of Botswana safaris are almost always amazed at how creative and genius the creation and maintenance of its wildlife sanctuaries.

The finest games in the whole region are found in the Chobe National Park which is located somewhere in the north east side of the country. It harbors the most varied games in the country and is refuted to nurse the largest group of elephants in a single place. Elephants here are estimated to have reached up to 80,000 individuals.

Savuti Marshes, on the other hand (which is located in the Chobe National Park) is refuted to have the largest density of predators found in all Africa. Hundreds of wildlife species are found here, both preys and predators.

Its resources for water encourages buffalo, antelopes, zebras and the likes that are followed by predators such as the leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, lions, and jackals. Some predators here have the tendency to become lazy and living in Savuti Marshes sounds more like a gift than anything else.

Botswana safari is simply a unique place for wildlife conservation. But this act is took time to accomplish. Botswana is a country that is bordered by neighboring countries. While great efforts and done to protect all its wildlife, it still needs other countries' collaboration to make everything working. After all, animals do not comprehend international borders. Visit overland safari tours for further information.

A Camping Kenya safari means a tented camp with no fence or wall, and is a much better part of an in Kenya safari than sleeping in a lodge. Of course in a camp with no fence the animals you have come to see, do come into the camp especially at night. Close encounters with an elephant browsing three feet from your tent is what a camping Kenya safari is all about. Go to hunting safari for more information.

As a family our first experience of an in Kenya safari was at the famous Galdessa Camp in Tsavo East. With two small children and apprehensive parents we felt that a fixed camp was going to be about as close to the wilderness as we could cope with, and so in the purest sense of the word it wasn’t a camping Kenya safari, but Galdessa is a camp with no fences or walls. The ‘tents’ were thatched bandas and a great deal more civilized than we expected with electricity, running water, and comfortable beds. Most important of all we were sealed in, zipped up at night with good well fitting mosquito nets.

On he way to Galdessa, and by the way we had our own family vehicle and driver arranged hrough the Manager at Hemingways. He wisely said that for our first in Kenya Safari it was the best way, because we could stop when we wanted and view as long as we wanted, and how right he was.

The few vehicles we saw were mainly like mini buses crammed with tourists, which looked no fun at all.

He aso said that if a luxury african safari was our ideal, then to start at Galdessa would be best, and how right he was again.

On our six hour drive from Malindi we had already seen several giraffes, elephants, but several hundred yards away, a lioness looking for her cubs, and a whole variety of bambi like creatures, water buffalo, and then very close to Galdessa two very large bull elephants, one of whom we passed at about fifteen yards, and exciting that was too. Refer to hunting safaris for more information.

We hardly passed a vehicle, and whilst our journey was just before the long rains arrived in April, the weather was clear and warm. The rains howver came a few days later, and even overnight this was seen by a considerable rise in the water level in the river due to rain up country.

We duly arrived at Galdess for our first night ever on a Kenya safari, nd were led to our banda, being shown on the way, elephant tracks, lion footprints, and hippo prints as well, all on the path inside the camp. We were told in no uncertain terms that on a camping kenya safari site like Galdessa, we were not under any circumstances, even in daylight to leave our banda unless we were with a member of staff, because of the high chance of an encounter with an animal.

After dark, we had to get into a safari vehicle to go the the dining area, because there was a bull elephant in the camp, and indeed on returning to our banda later by vehicle the bll elephant was browsing outside our back door, an we crept past about 10 feet away to the safety of our tent.

A visiting hippo in the middle of the night, right next to the tent, and the early morning evidence that a lion had been within touching distance of the tent really made our stay at Galdessa.

The food at lunch and dinner was spectacularly good, the views of the river from the central lounge/dining hut was excellent, and the surprisingly hot shower in our ten all adde to make the first night of our first in Kenya safari a memorable one.

Galdessa is a must on any Kenya safari tour, and a definite stop on a luxury african safari. Visit hunting safaris for further information.

If you are thinking about taking a trip in the near future, there are many areas that you should consider. There are places in North America with lots of history and sights, but there are so many other places abroad that can be much more interesting and historically significant. There are many places in the world that you may never think of to travel on your vacation, but they may be just the relaxing getaway you have been in search of. We have put together some ideas for world travel to help you decide where you want to travel on your next vacation. Go to overland tours for more information.

If you like the beach scene, there are many beaches to sample here in the states. Cities such as Miami, Dayton, Jacksonville, Malibu, and many cities in Hawaii offer great beaches for sunning and swimming. If you prefer leaving the country, you could always try South America. Rio de Janeiro has very nice beaches, however, the bathing suits are somewhat skimpy if existent at all. The Bahamas and other Caribbean Islands have wonderful beaches that beckon American tourists on a daily basis. Their beaches promise us palm trees and sandy shores as well as warm breezes and days of laziness and relaxation.

If you are a history buff, you may find that Pompeii is the place that tops your desired list of foreign locales. This location in Italy is the site of the great eruption of Mt Vesuvius some 2000 years ago. The city was completely destroyed, yet perfectly preserved by the lava that filled the city streets in an instant after the eruption. Seeing the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum (also destroyed in the same manner) is like stepping back in time to a place that time forgot. The history that lies there is more than we as Americans can ever experience in our home country. Also, while in Italy, you would have to stop by Rome and see the rich history of the Roman civilization and the emperors that once ruled the known world. Refer to overland safari tours for more information.

If you live for adventure, then and African Safari is probably tops on your list of things to do before you die. An African safari offers excitement and adventure, especially for those of us used to only seeing those types of animals on television. There are tour groups to take you on the safari and explain the animals and surroundings to the group. On a safari, you can see such animals as lions, elephants, monkeys and zebra in their natural habitat. Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania are just a few of the places that offer an authentic African Safari.

If you are more into winter sports such as snow skiing, then a trip to the mountains of Europe may be right up your alley. The advancement in safety over the last several years have made snow skiing safer and more enjoyable for professionals and novices alike. Downhill skiing may seem too advanced for some, and if so, cross country skiing may be more the thing for you. There are resorts and parks all over the world that offer trails for cross country skiers of all ages.

With all of these ideas for world travel, you are sure to find something to tempt your thoughts for your next vacation. Visit african adventure tours for more information.

It is here that the private game reserves and private safari lodges come to the fore. Offering a wide range of safaris and specializes in Kilimanjaro Treks.
Safaris are a very popular way of hunting.

A tripod or monopod is impractical because you will be taking photos from the safari vehicle for most of the time. After all, most early safari guests came from the up society. Unfortunately the easiest way to a successful migration safari in the Serengeti is also the most expensive. Go to hunting safari for more information.

Some of the best African safaris are found in the regions of Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. This safari can also be combined to terminate at the coastal white sandy beaches thereby crowning your wildlife safari with some enchanted forest in Kenya walk. Once you have been going on wildlife photography safaris in Africa for a number of years you begin to realise and recognise that certain areas are better than others for generating good animal picture opportunities on a consistent basis.

It is for a good cause because the money is ploughed back into managing the reserve effectively but if you could lessen that cost it will make a big difference to the safari price. It's possible to join a guided coach tour of Seville, or even a jeep safari through the Donana National Park. Will you forego an afternoon safari if the beaches are quiet and clean?

The most likely areas in which employment might be found are in the safari business, teaching, advertising and journalism. Walking safaris can also be arranged. (A good safari company will probably have someone on hand to carry your luggage for you).

Now is a great time to head off on safari to see the lion in it's own backyard. 0/xHTML browser, web browsing had never been so simpler and easy, thanks to its Apple Safari technology. One of the major questions while taking up a Rajasthan desert safari is the destinations to be covered. Refer to hunting safaris for further information.

I realized how much out of control the lawn was when I had to launch a safari to locate my letterbox, taking along a week's supply of food and toilet paper. Some say that Safari is not as safe from hackers as other browsers. In addition, there is a succinct wealth of information pertaining to each choice containing practical advice that will help you plan your trip such as hotels, sites, activities, events, outfitters or operators offering tours, treks, safaris, etc, lodging, costs, trips and/or excursions, restaurants, when to go, travel safety, and required travel documents.

You should also bring a day pack to carry any essentials you might need whilst on safari. The link provides a detailed look at almost every browser on earth including Maxthon, Flock, Avant, Safari, Opera, Netsacpe and many others. Firstly if you must book your safari from late July through to the end of September/October then it is necessary to book well in advance.

Many Kenyan safari tourists visit Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Rift Valley region of the country. Bird watchers can still get their thrills on a bird watching safari. Those that prefer to use Firefox, Safari, Opera or another alternative browser.

His 'Dark Star Safari' is witty travel writing that takes the reader on a bumpy, sentimental journey from Cairo in the North to Cape Town in the South with no one to meet and greet him along the way. Visit hunting safaris for further information.

During these difficult time, often called the credit crunch, many groups of people are in the process of seriously examining their lifestyle and trying to save cash. One way many are saving is to take an English vacation the reason for which is that the pound has reduced in value leading to the situation that vacations abroad for those living in the U.K. are more expensive than in previous decades and dramatically cheaper for people travelling from Europe and the US. In the article below I introduce you to the seaside resort of Southport, in the North West of England.

Southport is a delectable town situated on the English North West coast. Tourist attractions include, Churchtown village, the Botanic Gardens at Churchtown, Churchtown village, Lord Street, Wayfarers' Arcade, Southport Pier, Hesketh Park and more. Lord Street is the main shopping area in Southport. All the way down one side of Lord Street the broad pavement are covered by ornate Victorian iron work and a row of lush green trees closer to the road. On the opposite side of Lord Street there are gorgeous flower beds and small gardens with pools and fountains plus a Victorian bandstand. At the very of Lord Street is most likely the most imposing war monuments in the United Kingdom with an obelisk at the centre and 2 further monuments on each side which have large columns. Some of the finest architecture in Southport is to be found along Lord Street and it is where you will find the superb Wayfarers' Arcade.

At the end of Lord Street is the incredibly beautiful Hesketh Park. Hesketh Park is named after the Hesketh family the park is heavily wooded, just like Lord Street. There are beautiful hidden areas to be discovered, a play park, glass house, bandstand and more to be found within Hesketh Park however the most prominent feature is the gorgeous lake.

Churchtown: You will find another wonderful park, the Botanic Gardens in Chruchtown which has a a long stretch of still water which appears like a river which has a bridge, boating, swans, ducks and other wildlife and if you enjoy animals and birds the gardens also has a tiny zoo, just across the way from the cafe and museum. The village of Churchtown is a gorgeous collection of ancient fishermen's cottages, cottages and houses mostly white and small number feature a roof of thatch. It is vital that you take a walk around and that you are not afraid to peer around corners as there are a small number of hidden places of interest well worth the work to find.

Finding bed and breakfast in Southport is relatively painless with a wide selection of accommodation in Southport taking reservations online. There are establishments suitable for all tastes and budgets from cheap and cheerful to luxurious in the town centre and outside.

Hunting, though fun, can be a complicated sport. It get even more complicated when it comes to buying hunting equipment as there are a wildering selection of hunting gears and whatnots waiting for you at stores nationwide. Various hunters have various requirement so not every hunter wants to buy the same equipment. With time, a hunter will have his/her own customised collection of gadgets and gears to have. Go to hunting safari for more information.

To help ease your burden in shopping for hunting equipment, this article gives you 3 pointers you should remember. They are : where to buy your stuffs, where to get advice and opnions, what to buy for your best friend - your hunting dog!

1) Where should you buy your hunting equipment and such?

Should you buy your hunting gear at a department store or a sporting goods store? In a specalist, outdoor sporting goods store, you can find a greater variety and quality of items not found anywhere else. But these tend to be more expensive so it is most suitable for those with big budgets.

The sporting good section of a department store, on the other hand, offers a general selection of items at more affordable prices. Department store are great for those on a tight budget. The downside is that you may not find the specialized or high quality equipment you want.

Therefore it is best to shop for your gear at both types of stores, keeping in mind the cost savings offered by the department stores. Refer to hunting safaris for further information.

2) Where do you find advice on what and where to buy hunting stuffs?

With so many brands on the market, choosing a piece of hunting equipment is like choosing a new TV or coffeemaker. You just don't know which one is the real Mcoy! Luckily, there is the internet and you can easily find a website which offers opinions and reviews of certain hunting product or equipment.

There are also forums where hunters share your experiences, tips and secrets too. The honest and open opinions of other hunters can help to narrow down the available choices and make your shopping a little easier. Simply do a search on Google for hunting reviews or forums and you should be able to find some good ones.

3) What about your best friend, the hunting dog? What should you buy?

You are most likely not hunting alone. Your best friend will likely tag along and I'm not talking about the human kind. He is your favorite hunting dog. There is hunting equipment made just for hunting dogs, for example, a blaze orange hunting vest can keep Bingo safe when flushing out pheasants in the field. Doggy booties can help keep the pads of his feet from getting frostbite on those cold, cold, wintry hunts.

Another important piece of gear for the hunter is a canine first aid kit. Accidents can happen for a dog during hunting just as it can happen for a hunter. Nothing is worse than having one's best hunting buddy injured and you have no way to help him! Many of these dog first aid kits come complete with not only first aid items but booklets that show how to effectively deal with different types of injuries.

So there you have it. Remember these 3 points when you go shopping for your hunting gears. They could save you a ton of headaches later. Visit hunting safaris for more information.

It is not always about money – you may have sufficient funds to afford either but one of them would suit you more. And it is not always about your general style or preferences as ‘travel style’ is totally different. Many positive people may turn to be ‘unbearable’ fellows while traveling only because they have chosen the wrong style. For more information refer to overland tours

You can go for group tours if you agree with some or most of the statements below:

- You are single and do not have a travel buddy: Join group tours for more fun, less cost and of course to make new friends.

- You are not alone but still enjoy knowing people from all over the world; where else will you have this chance?

- You are female(s) traveling to less developed countries – stick to group tours if possible. Groups can offer more safety and comfort.

- You seek for maximum efficiency: Group tours have pre-scheduled itineraries to maximize your sightseeing. No matter how long your wife/husband would prefer to stay at a shop or your photo addict friend would like to take extra shots; the tour has to end when the guide blows the whistle.

- Although money is not everything, it is something: In some countries such as Turkey, Greece or Morocco private tours cost almost double or even triple prices when compared to the group tours. For small families or friend groups (2-3 traveler) it’ll be more cost effective to join escorted group tours.

If you are not sure about your travel style yet, here are the reasons why people prefer private tours despite the higher costs:

- You want to have full control on where to go, how to go, when to relax, when to shop etc. No matter how much more it cots, take a private tour.

- You are not control freak but prefer flexibility while traveling: Well, check the group itinerary, see how tight their schedule is. Some group tours provide flexibility to some extend. But at the end, there will be at least 30 more people to share the same flexibility. Go to african adventure tours for more information.

- You want to get off the regular tourist path; you prefer to visit a less known sight hidden at the far end of the city, or to stop at a local snack shop to mingle with the locals. If yes, you’ll have limited opportunity for this with a group.

- Your tolerance limit is somewhat low while traveling. Totally understandable. Well, in a group tour there might be fellow travelers that you dislike and you’ll need to stick with them for the entire tour. If this sounds like a nightmare, private tour might be a better option.

- You have certain accommodation preferences such as design hotels, awarded hotels, small B&B’s etc. However group tours usually stay at western type standard hotels to cater for the taste of the majority.

- You want to have the time and the freedom to ask silly questions.

- Simply you prefer privacy and personalized service!

- Last but not least, you have extra savings to afford all the reasons mentioned above.

So what will you do for your next trip? You don’t have to decide right away. It all depends on the destination, on the tour company, itinerary you’ll be looking for, the price etc. You will see that it is much easier to find group tour sellers. There are certain big tour operators that organize these tours and most of the travel agencies sell the same packages with same rates. However for private tours, you definitely need to make your homework. Look for a smaller boutique travel company that provides customized service. This company should have some expertise about the destination, should have the patience, and bulk purchasing power. The only way to understand all these are by asking questions, asking for price and comparing at least few companies. Always and always check the legitimateness of the tour company. Where is it registered and licensed? Are you under the protection of a provincial travel fund if anything goes wrong? All these questions are crucial before traveling to a new destination. At the end, when traveling is involved, cheapest is not always the best; peace of mind is what every traveler will be looking for. Visit overland safari tours for more information.
